 If MFA has not contacted you do not register and apply.  Joanne Bond grew up in New York, steeped in making and teaching art, but found herself in a decades-long interruption of art-making. In her late teens she joined a cult, had an arranged marriage, raised a family, left the cult, operated her graphic design business for 33 years, ran a benefit concert series in Baltimore from 2001 till 2013, became a performing singer-songwriter, voice teacher and lead singer Telesma, a popular Baltimore psychedelic tribal band! In 2024, Joanne got her groove back and plunged deeply into her lifeblood,  art ! Explosive, colorful paintings and collages came at a ferocious pace, as if to make up for lost time. Working in acrylic paints and inks with hand-dyed rice paper and mono-printing, Bond uploaded her work to social media and attention came quickly.
