Museums and Non-Profits have their own special language and set of expectations receiving materials. You only have one chance to make a first impression. Make it impactful by creating the best and most professional presentation of your art practice. This subscription based class will walk you through step by step with an actionable plan to get your work shown in museums and non-profit art centers.
What you will learn
This program, created in a conversational style with two friends and professional colleagues, Artist Kimberly Brooks and Curator Andi Campognone, is divided into four monthly assignments that take you through creating the materials, researching and approaching the best institutions and organizations for you as an artist.
HOW IT WORKS
Each month has a different critical focus starting with your TRIFOLD, an essential tool for communicating with museums and non-profits that may or may not be familiar with your work. This essential document encapsulates and communicates who you are and what you've accomplished as an artist.
Month 2 focuses on researching the right institutions to approach. Month 3 focuses on the critical cover letter to include. Month 4 focuses on how to create a proposal that curators and museums want to act upon.
Every month is accompanied with a live sessions with Andi personally. It is rare that an artist will be able to complete each assignment in just one month, hence the subscription format. You can work at your own pace and take as long as you wish for each part.
Additional modules for other items are available for those who stay along with recordings of guest artists and curators for thoughtful critiques and advice as you move forward on this journey of getting your work in institutions.
