Under Many Moons: Asian and Pacific Islander Art, Identity, and Community
Under Many Moons: Asian and Pacific Islander Art, Identity, and Community
Exhibition Dates: Saturday September 26th - Sunday October 11th, 2026
Presented in collaboration with AAPIC North Bay and the Many Moons Festival, Under Many Moons: Asian and Pacific Islander Art, Identity, and Community is a juried exhibition exploring themes of identity, heritage, belonging, and cultural expression.
Rooted in the spirit of the Many Moons Festival, an annual autumn gathering in Sebastopol that uplifts Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) culture, creativity, and community, this exhibition extends that energy into the gallery space.
We invite artists of all backgrounds to submit work that reflects personal and collective narratives shaped by culture, place, and lived experience. While this exhibition centers AAPI voices and perspectives, it is open to all artists engaging thoughtfully with themes of identity, migration, resilience, joy, and cultural continuity.
Artists are encouraged to explore their own themes. Some examples are:
Belonging
Migration and diaspora
Memory and ancestry
Resilience and resistance
Joy and celebration
Cultural continuity and transformation
This exhibition offers a platform for visibility, dialogue, and connection, honoring the depth and diversity of artists shaping the cultural landscape of the North Bay and beyond.
All visual art mediums are welcome, including (space permitting) video and work requiring electrical access."
