Zoom Roundtable with Jurors is Aug 18 at 4 pm Pacific Time

Continuing our annual show devoted to women artists, O’Hanlon Center for the Arts is committed to bringing more gender equity to the world of art. This 18th year we extend our reach around the globe to artists who identify as female and encourage them to submit to this popular ONLINE show.  

The art must be created by a person who identifies as female ,but the work DOES NOT need to reference or allude to images of women or women's issues.  It is certainly OK if it does!

Our curation and presentation of the selected work are exceptional. We promote the artists through social media, print media and email outreach.  We create a quality printable catalog of the show and the online shows are archived but accessible after the close of the show. Both Jurors will be given the same maximum number of works to select. All works independently selected by each juror will be included in the exhibition.

O’Hanlon Center for the Arts emphasizes the creative process and the continued pursuit of meaning and authenticity through observation, exploration, and experimentation.

Each artist may submit up to 3 individual pieces of artwork for consideration for this juried show. All media welcome except video. YES photography, fiber, sculpture, digital etc. Diptychs and Triptychs are considered 1 piece of work. Diptychs and Triptychs must be submitted as one image. 

• Submissions fees to O’Hanlon Center for the Arts: $30 for NON-Members or $25 for O’Hanlon Members – Coupon Codes OH25 at check out for members.
• Or join as a NEW member now at the Artist level for $140/1 year and get a free submission.  Email the office for a coupon code after you join: office@ohanloncenter.org.  NOTE: emails are not monitored on weekends.
• Work DOES NOT need to be for sale.

The deadline for Submissions is Monday Aug 3 by 11pm Pacific Time.

Artists will be notified of the jury results by email by 5 pm Tuesday August 11.

There will be a zoomed Roundtable art discussion to celebrate the show on Tuesday, August 18 at 4 pm  Pacific time open to all. Both Jurors plan to attend.  A zoom link will be emailed to selected artists and available to anyone requesting a link.

ABOUT THE JURORS: 

Donna Seager has juried this show since it started 18 years ago!

Now owner of Donna Seager Fine Arts & Artists’ Books she is continuing from the rich history of Seager Gray Gallery specializing in contemporary fine art with a focus on works that combine content with a mastery of materials. Donna continues to work with collectors and consultants in sourcing quality art for projects and personal collections.

A native of New Orleans, Donna Seager began in the art business in 1978. She was the director of Marlborough Gallery in Boston before moving to California in 1989. She continued to work in galleries in the bay area until 2005 when she opened her own gallery. Seager has distinguished herself for her discerning eye and commitment to the arts in her community. She has given lectures on the art of the book at international fairs in Miami and San Francisco. In six years, the gallery became a destination for artists and collectors all over the bay area.

Irene Bee Kain

7 years ago, Irene decided it was time to put the attention back on her Art and she has created a successful business with various yearly showings across the Bay Area. 

After spending some time on the Board with San Francisco Women Artist Gallery she joined The Art Of The African Diaspora Steering Committee with the Richmond Art Center and has been very happy to work with a multitude of artists and curate multiple shows yearly over the years. As a Board member for Art Works Downtown in San Rafael, DSRAD (San Rafael & Walnut Creek Arts Association), she feels better able mentor more artists, and give back.
