Sea to Shining Sea Exhibition

The Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art (AKMA), is celebrating the American Landscape with a national juried exhibition of landscapes in all media, Sea to Shining Sea. The exhibition will be on view from November 21, 2026 through February 21, 2027.

Artists can submit up to three artworks for consideration. Each artwork will be juried and scored individually.

Prizes:

• Best of Show: $500
• 2nd place: $250
• 3rd place: $150
• People's Choice: $100

Prize winners will be selected after the exhibition is installed.

Delivery and Return of Accepted Work:

• Shipped work should arrive no later than November 10, 2026. Ship work in sturdy, reusable crates or cartons. Work will be returned in the container and materials in which it arrived. Artists must provide a pre-paid return shipping label.
• Artwork may be hand-delivered November 16, 11 am - 6pm.
• AKMA provides insurance for artworks while on premises.
• AKMA is not responsible for damage or loss during transport.

Sales of Artwork:

• If artwork is sold, artists will receive payment after the close of the exhibition.
• Artworks may be for sale during the exhibition. Artists will receive 70% of sale proceeds. AKMA will retain 30% of sales.
• Artwork does not need to be for sale to be selected for the exhibition.

Juror: Lisa Grossman is a painter and printmaker based in Lawrence since 1996, whose work focuses on the prairies and river valleys of Eastern Kansas. Grossman has had over thirty solo shows around the Midwest and on either coast and her work is included in numerous public, private, and museum collections.

She has degrees from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas, and is represented by Haw Contemporary in Kansas City, Missouri, and SNW Gallery, in Manhattan, Kansas.
