LOCATION - Located in the Historic Core of Downtown Los Angeles, Dama Gallery has been an active part of Gallery Row and the surrounding arts community since 2019. Over the past seven years, the gallery has established itself as a trusted neighborhood presence, serving a growing community of collectors, residents, artists, and visitors who have come to regard Dama Gallery as their local contemporary art destination.

Situated on Main Street within one of LAs most active cultural corridors, the gallery operates alongside many of the region's most influential arts institutions, including Hauser & Wirth, The Broad, The Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), and dozens of independent galleries that collectively define Downtown Los Angeles as a premier destination for contemporary art.

As a longstanding participant in the monthly First Thursdays Art Walk and other community-driven cultural events, Dama Gallery remains deeply connected to the neighborhood while contributing to the ongoing revitalization and creative energy of the Historic Core. Its location provides artists with access to a diverse audience of collectors, curators, industry professionals, and an engaged residential community, while benefiting from the visibility and cultural momentum of one of the country's most dynamic urban arts districts.

CONSIDERATION - Entries are reviewed weekly and selections are made throughout the month. Submissions are carefully reviewed and considered, with selections made independently by location and curator. This process ensures that each gallery space reflects its unique identity and resonance within the contemporary art landscape of the community.

EXHIBITION - The current Los Angeles program features a curated mix of solo and group exhibitions selected based on what best serves the overall strength, balance, and direction of the program. Each selection is made with a focus on curatorial cohesion, ensuring that the work presented contributes meaningfully to the broader gallery vision. The scale and presentation of each exhibition are determined by the individual artist’s medium, conceptual depth, and spatial needs, allowing the work to be shown in its most effective form. Selected artists are invited to participate in openings and may also be considered for The Gallery Hangover Podcast. 

CALL FEE - Basic media fee is $35 for 3 images. Additional media may be added, the cost is $5 per image. No more than 20 images can be added. The curator's time plays a crucial role in shaping our gallery selections. Fees are allocated to reflect the curator's efforts, encompassing portfolio reviews, submission consultations, exhibition publications, artist stipends, juror honorariums, gallery interns, and other essential expenses integral to the meticulous curation, strategic marketing, and seamless execution of our extensive and ongoing exhibition program.

COMMISSION - Dama Gallery adheres to the industry norm of a 50% commission, retaining half of the sale proceeds. Artworks from the gallery are listed on Artsy, contributing to its online presence and market visibility.

REMITTANCE - Sales remittance to the artist occurs 5-7 business days post-exhibition and/or upon buyer payment finalization to Dama Gallery (whichever finalizes first). A detailed remittance statement is promptly provided with payment. 

NOTIFICATIONS - Entries submitted will be considered for the current and ongoing Los Angeles exhibition program. Selections are currently being made for exhibitions opening in August, October and December of 2026. Artists will receive notifications via the CaFE platform or direct email, with final decisions made at the curator’s discretion. Submissions are reviewed on a weekly basis and selections are continuous until the exhibition roster is completed.
