ABOUT THE SHOW
The 2026 Craft2Wear (C2W) show is an exhibition and sale of wearable contemporary American craft, including clothing (women, men, children), accessories, and jewelry. It will be held October 2-4, 2026, in Washington DC on the National Mall, at the historic Smithsonian Arts and Industries Building (AIB).
C2W artists are selected by a panel of members of the Smithsonian Women’s Committee, which produces the show. Proceeds from C2W benefit the Smithsonian Institution’s education, conservation and research programs.
Show Dates and Location
C2W will be Friday through Sunday, October 2-4, 2026. Move-in is Thursday, October 1, between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm. Three full days of sales will begin Friday at 10:00 am – 5:00 pm. Saturday hours: 10:00 am – 5:00 pm; Sunday hours: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. The Smithsonian Arts and Industries Building (AIB) is located at 900 Jefferson Drive, SW, Washington, DC, on the National Mall
Eligibility
C2W is seeking artists who produce one-of-a-kind and/or limited-edition items in their studios. All work must be made in the United States or its territories by US residents. It is permissible to use CAD/CAM or other techniques such as 3D printing. Repurposed materials, found objects, and sustainable materials are allowed; if used, description should be included in the artist’s statement. Items that incorporate materials from endangered species are not permitted.
The Smithsonian Women’s Committee is seeking the full range of wearables and accessories, such as clothing, scarves and shawls, handbags, cufflinks and tie tacks, jewelry, footwear, hats, gloves, etc.
The Smithsonian Women’s Committee reserves the right to examine applicants’ web pages and any available documentation to determine that an artist is in compliance with the terms of our application.
Application Deadlines, Fees, Booth Specs, Commissions
· Electronic applications are due by Close of Business (COB) Friday, April 17, 2026. A non-refundable $30 fee must accompany each application. Application and payment should be submitted to Juried Arts Services via their website: www.juriedartservices.com
· Late applications will be accepted until COB May 10, 2026. A non-refundable fee of $40 must accompany each late application.
· Booth fees are expected to range from $650-$800, with sizes 8x10 and 8x15. Each booth includes pipe and drape, a 6-foot skirted table, two chairs, an electric outlet and a disposable waste bin. Craft artists who work together and apply as one entity may pay only one booth fee. Artists must provide their own lighting fixtures with LED bulbs, and extension cords.
· Booths will be assigned after the invitation to participate is accepted.
· C2W charges a commission of 20% on sales. This commission is calculated at the end of each day, and a summary invoice is sent to each artist after the show closes with instructions on how to remit payment. Prompt payment is expected.
Application and Status Review
Applicants must submit an application to Juried Arts Services www.juriedartservices.net
After review by the Smithsonian Women’s Committee panel, an invitation will be sent by email to participate by Juried Arts Services no later than June 3, 2026. You may check the status of your application on the Juried Arts Services website after May 29, 2026.
To Apply/Artist Statement
Each applicant must submit an application to Juried Arts Services www.juriedartservices.net along with the $30 regular application or $40 late application fee, five (5) images and two (2) detail images (optional) for each image submission and one (1) booth image. These all should be representative of the work the artist intends to sell at C2W. Each artist should also submit a statement of no more than 1000 characters that describes their process and/or materials source and techniques in your work, if applicable.
